Challenge organisé par l’association France Patchwork tous les 2 ans qui consiste à reproduire ou à s’inspirer d’un quilt ancien. La copie permet d’apprendre à voir et à faire. C’est un bel hommage aux performances de nos ancêtres. Cependant, rien n’empêche quelquefois un petit pas de côté par rapport au modèle…

Challenge organized by the association France Patchwork every 2 years which consists in reproducing or taking inspiration from an antique quilt. Copying is a way to learn to see and do. J’ai réalisé un montage et  des finitions à la main – Le quilting machine a été fait par Mom Quilts.

My work was an assembly and finishing by hand – The quilting machine was made by Mom Quilts

Je me suis inspirée d’un quilt ancien, un Sunburst des années 1840 (Virginie). L’original a un fond écru, je lui ai préféré un fond rose, un tissu de Jo Morton.

I was inspired by an antique quilt, a Sunburst from the 1840s (Virginia). The original has an ecru background, I preferred a pink background, a fabric by Jo Morton.

◊◊◊Tellement d’idées et de projets…je ne sais pas par où commencer…donc je vous raconterai au fur et à mesure de l’année.

Souhaitons pour l’instant qu’elle soit bonne remplie de choses, d’évènements et de partages agréables.

En ce moment j’avance sur mon projet de reproduction d’un quilt militaire anglais des années 1850-75. Encore 19 blocs à redessiner et à coudre…

◊◊◊So many ideas and projects… I don’t know where to start, so I’ll tell you as the year goes on. Let’s hope for the moment that it’s going to be a good year, filled with exciting events and shared moments.

I am currently working on my project of an English military quilt reproduction, originally from 1850-75. Another 19 blocks to redraw and sew…

L’automne, ma saison préférée

Il est temps de vous donner quelques nouvelles!

Côté patchwork : je reproduis un quilt ancien anglais de 1850 / 1875. Les tissus sont unis car à l’origine il était en laine. Encore 29 blocs à réaliser, je les redessine au fur-et-à-mesure, j’adore dessiner, c’est très amusant! Il mesurera environ 160 x 160 cm.

It’s time to give you some news!

On the patchwork side, I reproduce an antique English quilt from 1850/ 1875. I choose solid fabrics because originally it was in wool. Another 29 blocks to make, I redraw them as I go, I love drawing, it’s very fun! It will measure about 63 x 63 ”.
